  • Engineering career began at Transportek, CSIR as technician, researcher, chief researcher and programme manager of Pavement Engineering over a period of 13 years.
  • Was Executive Director : Roads and Works of the Johannesburg City Council for 4 years and subsequently Acting Metropolitan Head of Service Delivery of the Transitional Metropolitan Council of Greater Johannesburg for one year. Appointed Executive Director Infrastructure of Murray & Roberts Contractors, Director of Murray & Roberts Roads and Earthworks and Director of Tolcon. Executive Director of Engineering of the Technikon SA.
  • Chairman of CAPSA, President of SAT, serves on various technical committees nationally and internationally in the roads and materials field.
  • Serves on various environmental committees, planning zone forums and Public Understanding of Science Engineering and Technology (PUSET) initiatives, such as the Science, Engineering and Technology (SET) Discovery Centre @ TUKS, Technology in Motion (Tsebo Koloing) and Teachers Outreach Workshop (TOW). Published and presented more than 70 reports and papers at international conferences and in periodicals in various fields of expertise.
