- Worked for ESKOM (Rand and O.F.S. Undertaking) as Test Engineer and Shift Engineer from 1960 to 1963 at various power stations.
- Joined FOSKOR at Phalaborwa in 1963 as Section Engineer. Promoted to Project Superintendent responsible for the design and construction of the crushing, milling, flotation and drying plant extensions associated with the newly developed pyroxenite mine.
- Appointed Production Superintendent at ALUSAF, Richards Bay during 1969 with responsibility for the planning, training for, commissioning and operation of the original 50 000 t.p.a. Aluminium Reduction Pot Line in 1971. Promoted to Technical Manager and ultimately to Technical Director of ALUSAF and lead the Hillside expansion.
- Appointed Manager Technology in the London office of Billiton Aluminium Ltd after the unbundling of GENKOR, the controlling shareholder of ALUSAF, and the creation of BILLITON Plc and was involved with the production of more than 1’100’000 t.p.a. of Primary Aluminium in South Africa, Mozambique and Brazil. Retired in 2001.
- Joined BLUE CUBE SYSTEMS (Pty) Ltd as Executive Director. Involved with the development and commercialisation of bench top and on-line Spectral Mineral Analysing technology.
