• Started career with Liebenberg & Stander as design engineer from 1983 to 1991.
• Was Senior Project Manager with Project Management Techniques from 1992 to 1994.
• Founded Development & Engineering Consultants (Pty) Ltd in 1993 and since serves as Managing Director, engineer and project manager of company.
• Were lead structural engineer for Mossgas FA Field offshore production platform and Lead Project Manager for the new domestic terminal at O R Tambo international airport.
• Council Member of ECSA and the SA Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions since 2005, Council Member of SAACE 2001 – 2002, President of SAICE in 2006, member of SABTACO, the Project Management Institute (USA) and Project Management South Africa and Board Member of the Construction Industry Development Board 2001 – 2004.
• Was instrumental in the establishment of the Construction Industry Development Board as a member of the secretariat, Chairman of Task Teams and co-drafter of green and white papers.
• Was involved in the establishment and served as convenor of the SAICE Infrastructure Report Card.
• Was awarded the CSIR Outstanding Achiever Award for services to construction industry development in 1999.
